A prominent main staircase and an equal distribution of classroom seats across the first and second floors manage the flow of students during class changes, enhancing connectivity and minimizing congestion.

Informal seating areas offer stunning views to the large second-floor terrace and across campus. Strategically placed windows with horizontal terra-cotta louvers create a filigree shadow pattern, minimize heat gain, and ensure students remain comfortable inside the building.

As part of our design, we reinterpreted Texas A&M’s 17 traditional gonfalon flags. Each modern gonfalon is paired with a plaque that deconstructs the design, explaining the graphic components and their symbolic meaning. To honor The Grove’s legacy, we salvaged wood from cherished oaks, which was used to craft a typographic event calendar that commemorates The Grove’s historic events and reinforces the campus’s enduring traditions.
